Istanbul Ataturk Airport : Intl Flight to Domestic Flight time needed
Hi guys,i am hoping someone who had similar flight experience and advise me on this.
i am flying into istanbul(frm singapore) via ataturk airport est arrival time 0740 hrs EEST.
I am planning to fly out to cappadocia immediately. would i have enough time to clear customs, collect my luggage, proceed over to domestic terminal, clear customs check in luggage and make the a flight out at turkish air flight at 1005 hrs?
These are two separate flights, i would have to check out and check in again.
My other flight options are 1035 and 1415 hrs.
My first choice would be the 1005 flight but i am worried that i might not have enough time to clear all the necessary channels and the footwork needed to get to domestic terminal.
Any advice would be greatly appreicated!

The footwork from international to domestic will be the least of your worries. It takes at most 10 minutes on moving walkways once you leave the international terminal, turning to your left after coming out of the luggage arrival and customs area.
Some ideas:
-check on various web sites on the historical statistics of your international flight.
- Allow about 30 minutes for visa and passport control (can be a lot less) And of'course this also part of the time your luggage will take to arrive.
- At the worst case allow one hour after landing for your luggage.
- Do not forget that you will be flying West with the head winds against you. This means that the actual flight time may end up being longer.
Under these circumstances the 10:05 would be my last choice. Will not tell about my first.

oh wow thank you so much for your tips!
hmm decided to go with the 1035 flight timing. its 60TRY cheaper per pax for an allowance of half hour more ! In the end its the price that made the choice for us.
now i'm going to keep fingers (and toes) crossed that no delays on the arriving international flight.
thanks again!
