Is parking really a big problem in Dinan?
I've been checking out hotels in Dinan and also nearby and am concerned about parking which seems to be limited to where the Market is held on Thursday. Where do you park on Thursday when I will be there? The hotels don't seem to have parking. If we come from a nearby town, are we going to be riding around for a long time looking for a space somewhere? Please clarify. I'm only using Rick Steves' France as a guide right now.

When we visited Dinan, we had to drive around a little bit to find a car park, but in a matter of 15 minutes we had found a spot. If you look in the Red Guide Michelin there are at least 8 different public parking stations indicated in the centre ville area. Needless to say, patience goes a long way on market days, as well as an early arrival.
If you don't have a hotel yet, the Hotel Grandes Tours 6 r. Chateau indicates it has parking available. 02 96 39 21 22 or [email protected]. 34 rooms around 50-70 euros. Supposedly Victor Hugo and Juliette Drouet spent the night here when passing through.
Good Luck and amusez-vous bien!

There is a large underground garage in Dinan. You can access it from Place Duclos. Might be crowded on market days, although I don't remember having any problem. On non-market days we had no problems parking there several times in mid/late June.
