Is Oranienburger Strassee in Berlin a good block for hotel

Me and my husband are 30 and traveling to Berlin in the summer and wanted to find a hotel in great area that has lots of stuff nearby we found hotel on the same block as Oranienburger strassee (arcotel velvet hotel) that fit our needs. Is this a good area to have your hotel nearby? Is it safe? Any other favorite recommended popular blocks/locations/areas with trendy area for cafes/bars/restaurants would be helpful.

I stayed at the Arcotel Velvet a couple of weeks ago. It was fine. Neighborhood was decent. No reason not to stay there, and there was a good amount of night life.

Great super helpful. Is this area better than hackecher markt area? I could pay more and stay at the arcadia Apt right there. Want to be in great place for Cafes bars but also was worried the area by arcotel velvet was not the hip area anymore and read about people saying lots prostitutes on that street which didn't seem like a nice area when I saw that. If you can shed any detail on my concerns would be greatly appreciated.

There are some prostitutes on the street but it's very busy and very non threatening. The Hackescher Market is also pretty cool with a good range of bars and eateries in the vicinity. You wont go wrong with either.
