Is Bath a worthy/easy day trip from London?

Greetings. My wife and I are spending six days in London and are considering a day trip to Bath. We'd probably visit the Roman baths and have lunch at the Pump Room, then wander around for a bit. Do you think this is worth the time/expense? Any tips you have are appreciated as well. Many thanks!

Is this your first visit to London? if so, 6 days isn't very long - especially if you are flying in transatlantic and face a first day of jet lag fog.

So whether you go to Bath or not really depends on how much you manage/want to see in London. That being said, Bath is a totally doable day trip. Hop on a train at Paddington and get off in the center of Bath. Could not be easier.

But - as I said, I'd probably hold off on the decision and wait to see how things go - and the weather. A day trip to Bath is great on a nice day - wouldn't be so much fun in an all day downpour.

OP Q's - definitely yes and definitely yes and only 1.5 hours by fast train from Paddington station.

One of the very finest cities in the UK. It's nice to get out of London, see the countryside in between and see a more typical English town and one of the sweetest ones around.

Don't miss the Sham building put up by Beau Nash (?)

Bath is a lovely city to spend some time in. Another suggestion, which I've enjoyed when I've had limited time, is taking a daytrip to the Cottswalds. I've done a few of the Explorer Day Trips outside of London and found the guides exceptional. I think it's London Walks and then look for Explorer Days on the website: http://www.walks.com, to see the places they go. Bath is one of them. Seems to me with the Cottwalds trip we did not have to spend so much time with transporation.

If you are googling - it is Cotswolds
