Is anyone familiar with this Paris Apartment
http://www.vrbo.com/33626
This place looks nice, and is available for our dates.
I have corresponded with the owner who is living in the states. She has been very responsive.
Fees can be paid using PayPal and credit card.
Only references she had were through the vrbo guest book.
Was wondering if anyone is familiar with this place?
How about the location? Would you recommend?
Thanks in advance,
dk

It looks great and the price seems fair. We've rented in several areas of Paris, most recently in le Marais in January (just across from the Centre Pompidou). The area is really great and you really can walk to many, many things.
So my only concerns would be:
1. They fail to mention what floor you are on and if there is an elevator. Believe me, if you have to walk up 5 floors of winding, narrow circular stairway a few times a day it can wear on you.
2. How many of you are going? Since the sofa is a futon, if you need it for kids it is probably fine, but I wouldn't put adults on one--especially if you are two couples splitting the cost.
Enjoy your trip!!

Thanks MelJ,
It's on the second floor (ameican), so one flight of stairs - no elevator will be necessary.
There are only two of us, so the size would be fine.
And paying with credit card, should really put my mind at ease about renting from a private person – right?

this apartment looks wonderful, as does the second apt. listed on the owner's website. we usually stay just around the corner from rue st. gilles. it is a small quiet street and the G20 market is very convenient! in addition to the metro lines, there are many convenient bus routes nearby as well. we've used VRBO with great success.
enjoy!
enjoy!
