There are a few good restaurants in Cavan, not right by Farnham but within a reasonable drive - the Old Post Inn is one. Neven Maguire's MacNean Bistro is also in Cavan, not sure how far from Farnham, and they do great cookery courses and stunning food but you would need to book well in advance.
There's not a huge amount to do locally except tour around, maybe figure out if you will have a car and how far you are prepared to travel and see is there anything interesting within that range. The scenery around the lakes of Cavan is quite nice, maybe drive up to Eniskillen and have a coffee by the lake there and see a bit of Northern Ireland.
