Ireland in 9 Days (again)
Thanks for the suggestions. I have read several guide books on Ireland and have traveled through Europe many times. I posted the message because I know I have limited time there and am loooking for a route, and I have received conflicting information from books, programs, other forums, and friends. I am asking for people's opinions on the best route in 9 days. I know what the guide books have said, but I would really appreciate your thoughts...

Sazucker,
Where do you want to go in Ireland and what do you want to see? How can we help you with so little info? Give us more to go on and I'm sure you'll get some great help. It might be a little slow over the weekend.

Just can't be answered - sorry. We can't suggest an itinerary for you w/o a LOT more info from you.
Like When? How are you planning to get around - public transport or a rental car? What sorts of things do you enjoy? etc.
Start by clicking on DESTINATIONS above. Then write out a basic itinerary you think works for you. Then we can help you refine it.
But just "I have 9 days, tell me what to do, where to go" - nope . . . .

Sazucker-
No one is trying to be difficult and no offense is meant but you really must provide more info. on your interests. That's like asking someone to plan a 9 day vacation to California for you and saying you want to see the coast and Palm Desert.
Time of year? Interests? Castles? Scenery? Parks? Monuments?
if you have read some guidebooks then what specific places & things sounded particularly interesting to you?
In regard to Belfast- you could do a day trip from Dublin by train.
Cashel is lovely and you could head that way toward the west coast. You can go to Killarney or Kenmare & south to Beara Peninsula and surroundings or toward Dingle and Slea Head.
Or East to West through Killarney and the Nat'l Park
Then again-there is Sheep's Head, Mizen Head, Cork, Cobh, Baltimore...the possibilities are endless without more info.
Let us know...!
Dawn
ps: always continue on the same thread that you began with when responding. Starting a new thread only breaks up the info. and one or the other gets lost- and creates confusion. Here is the link to the original...
