Ireland Heritage Card - Is it worth purchasing?

I have heard it is a great idea to purchase a Heritage Card for discount admission to lots of places in Ireland, is this really true. We will be visiting the Southwest region of Ireland next month and 3 of the sites we had planned to visit, Muckross House, Killarney National Park, Ross Castle, are listed on this pass.
Advice from any one with first hand knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

B.

Muckross House €7
Killarney NP €0
Ross Castle €6
Total €13

Heritage Card €21
(Muckross Traditional Farm is the only OPW site NOT included, Muckross House IS included)

Unless you plan to see more, or plan to return within one year, the individual entrance fees are cheaper.
