Ireland - have you been to a 'medieval banquet' at a castle?

Hi
Has anyone has attended a medieval banquet at a castle in Ireland?
I've seen these banquets advertised on the internet for castles around Shannon.
It sounds a little tacky and expensive but also seems like great fun!
I'd love to read about your experience.
Thanks

I have been to all the castle banquets as well as the Bunratty Irish Night. I have just topped a thread titled "castle banquet near Shannon" where I describe each one. If you can't find that posting click on my name and it will appear on the left.

We went to the Bunratty banquet and enjoyed it very much. I don't regret at all the experience and fun.

Yes, it is tacky but really fun. And the food was pretty good too. I can't remember the name of the place, not Bunratty, but near by. Had a great time.

Have been to the Bunratty banquet and it was fun if a bit touristy. Do allow a bit of time to wander the folk park prior to the meal.

Hi shelby, I had a friend who attended one of these banquets in Ireland about two years ago. She said although she would not bother to go to one again it was fun and interesting. But of course she said it was touristy. She did not make any comments on the price but since she said she was not sorry that they went I assume she felt as though they had their moneys worth.
