IRA or anyone-VENICE

Can you tell me what the Secret Itinerary Tours in Venice is about?

We are planning our day to day intinerary and not sure what we will do with three nights in Venice.

Everyone seems to be saying it is too much time there.

Thank-you

Three days/nights in Venice is "too much time there?" Oh no! Venice is wonderful and you won't want to leave. Visit Murano and Burano. Re the Secret tour...are you referring to Doge's Palace? We thought it was just a so-so tour but it probably depends on your guide. You see some rooms that aren't on the general tour.

Hi robbie,

Three nights in Venice is a great idea. Five is even better.

The Secret tour takes you through the administrative rooms and offices, the jail cells and the attic of the palace. It is interesting, but not a 'must see'.

After the secret tour, you can do the rest of the palace w/o extra cost.

Hi, Ira,
We are doing 3 nights in Rome, 4 in Florence and 3 in Venice.

Wish we could take another week but well just happy to be going.

Hi rg,

I saw your Rome and Florence itinerary. Rome will be rather hectic, but the rest of your visit looks very nice.

You may, but I don't think you will find three days in Venice to be too much. We spent seven wonderful days there and could've spent more.

For nights in Venice, I simply have a nice late-ish dinner somewhere, then stroll around, maybe get a gelatto. And at least for me, I was tired from walking all day, so happy to get back to the room, maybe read up on ideas for the next day, and get some rest.

I can never believe when people say 3 nights in Venice is too long. How ridiculous. See what you think once you're there, but I've stayed 5 nights, 2 trips and would return in a heartbeat for a longer stay.

We really enjoyed the Secret Itinerary Tour...thought it was a great way to see the other "non-public" areas. Our tour guide was very informative. Groups are limited to about 20 people, so you could always see and hear.
