insurance for rental car

Reading the insurance details as posted on car rental web sites, I came across the term "excess", as in Vehicle Damage Cover Excess (1,000 Euros). Is this the same as what we call "deductible" in North America?

Hi gee,

XS is the deductible.

Have you checked with your CC company about insurance?

Usually, if you refuse the CDW you have zero deductible coverage.
