I used them to book a unique place to stay on the Amalfi Coast in 2001. They have some wonderful information on their website, some of which you won't find anywhere else. (I particularly liked the information about driving.) I think I also bought a map from them. They were easy to deal with, but I think you can get as good or perhaps even better prices elsewhere.

Bellarose, That is a wonderful web site.
They are good people--I have advertised with them for 5 years and have written some articles for the site. If you want one-stop-shopping then they are hard to beat. However, understand that you are paying a premium price for the lodging and tour bookings. If cost is a factor to you then you can do better.

I have only good things to say about InItaly.com. Booked three properties with them last September. They did all the leg work. Yes, we did pay a bit of a premium, but they had some very reasonably priced B&Bs, so it was still worth it. I definitely recommend their sight for the information offered alone, and if you're not working with a travel agent, and you don't want to deal with all the back and forth with the bookings, it's a great way to go. Good luck!

We had planned on using InItaly for a trip to Italy a few years ago. Found the exact same place thru Tuscany.net for much cheaper - we dealt directly with the owner. I would do my research including checking out the comments on various places on the InItaly site but then I would look at the tuscany.net website for the same place. It's nothing to book a car on your own in Europe - why pay a middleman to do it for you?

Thanks to all for the helpful comments. They have located a great deal on a car for me in Rome, better than I found in my independent search. Based on your feedback, I have booked it. Did the lodging myself, though, given the comments about rates. 4 days and counting to Rome!
