In Florence - food recommendation
Hello. My family is in Florence at the moment. We are looking for a restaurant with a nice variety to the menu. Something other than the typical pasta selections. No pizza. Considerations, have a vegetarian in our group. Looking for a moderate price, casual atmosphere. Thanks.

There is a small, family owned trattoria that I have been going to for many years on Via Castellani, behind the Uffizi, about a block in from the Arno. The name is Trattoria Roberto. I am there most nights when I am in Florence since I discovered it in 1996. Mama and Papa cook and the sons wait tables.
It is unpretentious and likely to be filled with Carabinieri from across the street as well as the solo locals who will be at the back table.
If you decide to try it, tell Antonio and Alessandro that Kim from Florida sends her love to their family.
Enjoy Firenze

Hi there,
Vegetarian's are not overly catered for in Tuscany, but Florence does has a really special Vegetarian restaurant, called The Vegetariano.
