iceland denmark norway sweden

planning a trip for a week, week and a half from iceland to copenhagen to bergen to oslo to stockholm. also might want to stop in faroe islands on way to copenhagen.

has anyone done this trip? or can suggest what is fun to to in these countries or if it's worth seeing all these places? how long will it take? is a week a long enough time?

I've never been to Scandinavia, but I know that 1 week to do all that is probably impossible, unless you spend one night in each place and the rest of the time travelling.

With one week, I'd pick one, maybe two places (Iceland OR Copenhagen/Stockholm OR Oslo/Bergen).

Why do you want to go to all those places - to see them or to just pass through? If you want to see anything, you'll need cut you list at least in half and drop the Faroe's.

I'm not sure you can even get to tall of those places in one week - never mind actually see anything at all.

In one week you could do Oslo, Bergen/fjords.

Or Iceland.

Or Stockholm and daytrips.

Or Copenhapen and daytrips.

If your push is Stockholm and Copenhagen (but you'll be missing a LOT).

You really need to either make some decision or expand to at least a 22 day trip.

I think this person is starting in Iceland, so time there isn't included in the 7 to 10 days.

In that case, in you could fly to Copenhagen, spend 3 nights; fly to Oslo (or take an overnight ferry); spend 2 nights; train to Bergen (scenic route), spend 2 nights, and fly home with a stop in the Faroe Islands (2 nights).

From his earlier posts, he wants to take the ferry from Iceland and then drive the rest of it (followed by some time in So. Europe).

Just not possible . . . .

enzian's version is doable though.

My daughter is going to be in Iceland on a grant for 3 weeks. I then want to join her for the last week to 9-10 days. We wanted to do Bergen, the fjords, the faroe islands and either go to Stockholm or Copenhagen and fly back to NY. We will be doing this at the end of August. What would you suggest is the best route for those amount of days. We know the ferry goes to the Faroe Islands but it seems to take alot of days out of the trip. We are confused! Also if you had to choose between Copenhagen or Stockholm which would you choose and why?
Any input is greatly appreciated!!

Okay, so we have narrowed this down. I will join my daughter for 2 days in Iceland.
Fly to Bergen
1-2 nights (?) Bergen
NIN tour with one night stop in Stalheim
1-2 nights Oslo
than fly to Stockholm for 2 nights and home.
I want the total to be 10 days. Any suggestions?
