Lillian2233,
In the past, students who have posted questionnaires on Fodor's have been kicked around pretty badly by older posters. It's never clear to me if teachers suggest going this route or if students themselves come up with the idea, but you might get more responses (and get less insults) if you posted on other travel websites.

I have filled in your questionnaire and also wish you good luck, although I'm not sure how much help this is. The questions about 'a boutique hotel' and 'another type of hotel' are difficult to answer for anyone who has stayed in a lot of hotels - I wasn't sure whether to average out my experiences, just think of the most recent examples or what.

I filled oout your questionnaire out of curiousity - I have designed questionnaires in the past and was interesed to look at yours. Like Caroline, I had difficulty "averaging" answers from years of staying in hotels, boutique and otherwise, so I merely went with an impression.

Not sure what a certain poster is on about??
MANY students have posted surveys and questionnaires in the past and received help-- and helpful criticism.
Since you are apparently working on an advanced degree, you really should be able to produce a better focused survey. Some of your questions are too vague. Terms like 1 star, 5 star etc mean different things in different cultures/countries. Do you mean amenities, or room rates, or a combo
Actually, your survey is better than some we have seen here
. But IMO it still needs some work/refinement to produce the sort of info you need for your thesis.
Have you received a critique from your professor about the survey and its content?

Ackislander: I was trying to help the OP. Was not raking her over the coals -- at all. Trying to help her get the data she needs is constructive.
Where did I "Kick her around"???
If I was working on my thesis (never again
) I'd definitely welcome suggestions for improvement . . .

I have filled in the questionnaire and put in some what I hope are helpful notes. (Plese note - tis is to be helpful , not criticcal. It;s what I would do if one of my juniors brought me a draft questionnaire.)
I realize that it's dificult to write a survey in a foreign language - and also that a person in Hungary might not be aware of standard usage and habits in othr countries.
First - it's very odd to switch from general to Budapest in mid stream. Questions might be answered differently if the city is known in advance.
Second. some of the categories of hotels are odd - what is a "medical" hotel? One associated with a hospital? A sanitarium with licensed staff providing treatments? A spa?
Third it is very poor practice to ask people for a specific income number. Typically there shuold be ranges - so someone can pick one.
Fourth, it is very odd to assume that people have stayed in only one hotel. The vast majority or people on this board have stayed in, I would assume, dozens of hotels - at a minimum. The questions hould refer to - yuor most recent stay - or only your stay in Budapest if that is what is meant.
Finally the education question is based on a european system. In the US a college and university are used interchangable. (Here a college can give only BA, BS or similar degrees and a university can give also masters and PhDs. But, I believe in europe the term "college" is used to mean an academically-focused high school, or some sort of special scool - as in art college of whatever.
I fear you may end up with some very odd responses unless you rework yuor questionnaire. And I would run it past your advisor again - or someone there who has experience with market research.
