I don’t bother to ask questions about travel to Europe here anymore. The answer is easy. This isn’t really a “European” forum. It’s the Paris, London, Rome forum. Sometimes it stretches a bit to the UK + Ireland, France & Italy but not much. I’ve been to those places and don’t need information about them.

In my early days of posting I would ask questions about places like Norwich, Orebro, Liege, Turku, Troyes, Luxembourg, Wurzberg, etc. Want to see a post drop like a rock? Ask about anything other than the big three and you’ll see it happen. Doesn’t anybody ever get outside of Paris or Venice or London or Provence or Cinque Terre? Does anybody go to Berlin or Leipzig or Oslo or Tarragona?

This appears to make the vast majority of people here fall into two categories. Newbies who are anxious and ask everything about their very first ever European trip which is only to Rome, Paris or London (or worse all three in 8 days.) The second category seems to be people like me who answer questions because it let’s them relive their vacations. And I think my hometown in the U.S. is underrated so I plug it whenever possible on the U.S. board.

This idea affects my posting. If I see the rare post about Nuremberg or Angers or Ely or Beaugency or Cromer or Chateaudun or Dresden etc., I try to make sure I get an answer out and encourage people to see parts of Europe many people never do. I usually don’t bother to answer a question about London, Paris or Rome. Paris? Gee, stay in the sixth with all the other tourists and have a nice time. London? Go see the changing of the guard. Rome? Take the tour inside the coliseum. Venice? Take a gondola ride.
I should be happy with all these answers, but I don't know, my own insecurity is just so overwhelming. I am totally obsessed with you-know-who and you-know-who and you-know-who. I follow their every posts night and day. I fantasize about looking into their eyes while walking along the Danube or strolling through the Ramblas or picnicking in Malcesine.

What I really dream for is for any one of them to "pop the question". So that I could get all gushy and girly, and whisper.

Yes.

and yes. and yes. and yes. and yes. and yes. and yes. and yes. and yes. and yes. and yes. and yes. and yes. and yes. and yes. and yes.
