I am so very confused....

I will be flying into Milan Malpensa airport. I am to understand that there is a fast speed train from Milan to Naples? Also twice daily? I have gone to the Eurail website and still am lost. Can anyone please tell me if my info is good and what the times are for departure and anything else I may need to know... Thank you

Your first mistake is using a Eurail website. The Italian train company is Trenitalia, use their website. Have you booked your flight already? It would make more sense to fly into Naples (or at least Rome) if you are starting your trip in Naples.

Looks like it leaves hourly from Milan central station and takes about 5 hours with no change of train.

There are high speed trains from Milan to Naples at least every hour all day long. Hourly departure is ##:15 and the trip takes 5 hrs.

The Italian RR website is www.trenitalia.com. Summer schedules after mid June may not be posted yet, so look at the same day of the week before then to see the details.

I just looked at the train schedule on Trenitalia and there are hourly departures Milan/Naples on the fast train (travel time 5 hours) starting at 7am until about 5pm. After that, less departures.

You might be confused because there are only a couple of fast trains that start at the airport. Most start in Milan so you will need to train into Milan or take the shuttle bus to the main station (Centrale).

Hi ad,

Please note if you are going from Malpensa to the Milan Centrale train station you take the bus, not the train.

Enjoy your visit.

Actually, some of the fast trains start from the airport and don't require any changes. Currently only two per day, but more are supposed to be added.
Arrival station Arrival time Departure time
Malpensa Aeroporto --:-- 12:22
Milano Centrale 13:02 13:15
Bologna Centrale 14:20 14:23
Firenze S. M. Novella 15:00 15:10
Roma Termini 16:45 17:00
Napoli Centrale 18:10 --:--

You can also catch a train to Centrale by following the directions on the above link (scroll down to where it just says Trenitalia). There is a shuttle bus from the terminal to Gallarate which has frequent departures to Milan (about 5€).
