Hydrofoil from Naples to Sorrento

We arrive by train into Naples and have decided to take a hydrofoil to Sorrento where we will be staying for three days.
How do we get from the train station to the hydrofoil? Does snyone know the price per person to Sorrento? Has anyone does this?
TIA

Corp - You might want to reconsider as hydrofoils are not very frequent, ncurrently:
09.00 - 11.00 - 13.05 - 15.00 ...

For details see:
http://www.consorziolmp.it
(Click LMP)

Fare: € 8.50

You can reach the dock (- Molo Beverello) by tram No.1 or bus 3S from Piazza Garibaldi.

The bus/tram stops are on the far side of Piazza Garibaldi (- near Garibaldi monument).

Get tickets in advance (- from ANM kiosk in piazza) - and validate on boarding.

Hope this helps ...

Thanks, Steve

I've posted your response to the "Helpful Information" thread.

I have the opposite question. We are planning on arriving by ferry or hydrofoil from Procida to Molo Beverello and need to go to the train station. Where does the bus stop at Molo Beverello and where do you get the tickets at at the port? Do I have to find a tabacchi shop or is there a stand there that sells tickets?

It may be easier to take a taxi since we will have luggage, but we may do the bus if it is not too crowded.

Hi S,

With luggage, I suggest a cab.

The #1 bus leaves from Piazza Municipio for the train station. About 5-10 min walk.

Thank you, Ira! We'll probably take a cab. Hauling luggage and crossing streets in and through Napoli does not appeal to me.

Ira - The No 1 is a tram, not a bus. Have you never taken it?

Scully - The stop is in the middle of the main road adjacent to the dock at Molo Beverello - 100m walk.

Hope this helps ...

Steve

P.S. If you risk a taxi MAKE SURE you fix a price beforehand. You have been warned

Thanks for the clarification, Steve. Forgive me for my ignorance, but what is a tram exactly? Is that like a cable car?

I am well aware of the taxi drivers' inclination to rip people off. I was stationed in Naples for two years with the Navy so I am familiar with them. I guess we will decide when we get there which we will take depending on our mood. We will be arriving from Procida, going to the train station and dropping off our bags for the day and then seeing Naples. That evening we are taking the night train to Ostuni to maximize our time. Naples is a lot of fun. I've never been to Procida before though so I'm really looking forward to that. I imagine it to be a mini vacation within the vacation because what I've heard of it it is very laid back with not a lot to do. Sounds good to me.
