How to see Capri in 48 hours

The last time I was in Italy I made the big mistake of visiting Capri for the day from Positano. Since I was a child one of my life goals was to see the blue grotto. Of course, the day I go with Gennaro Salvatore from Positano the waters were too rough and we couldn't get in the grotto. The end result was me sea sick lying flat praying that I will have the opportunity to do this again.

Well, I am going back and this time staying in Capri for 2 nights. I like the reviews I am reading about La Mamela or la Luna which is a bit more expensive. I definitely would like a room with a view (got this far, what's a few more euros?)

Anyway, I would love to hear your suggestions on what to do and see in 48 hours in Capri. I want to make sure I have no regrets again! The last time we were there we walked to the top since there was so much traffic and long lines. Also, should I reserve with someone in advance to see the blue grotto or can we just book it that day?

Grazie!

Stay at La Minerva - heaven! - and take their "private boat tour" around the island - 1/2 day. They will stop at Blue Grotto if you want. We did, and are not sorry.

Don't miss:

Monte Solora - chairlift up - awesome views!

Villa San Michele - Anacapri - a highlight of our trip

A walk to the end of Via Tragara and the lookout - beautiful!

We were there 3 nights. Wasn't enough....

We just returned from a week in Anacapri. Not enough time. I don't know if a month would be enough time!! Stayed at small little inn named Casa Mariantonia. you can see reviews at tripadvisor. It ranks no.1 right now. Great experience! when there pick up a copy of Capri blossoming- walking tours of Capri and Anacapri. Have fun

Don't forget the Villa LeScale. Do a search for reports.

Try Ainao. We stayed here in their suite (the photo shows our terrace and our view), but they also have 2 other less expensive rooms, both I believe with terrace.

Warm, charming, brand new, great location halfway between Capri and Anacapri (in Capri). Walk to town.
