How to Recover Lost Threads

Hi all,

Some of us are not aware that each new message goes to the top of the pile, causing threads that have not been answered for a while to drop way, way down.

They are not lost.

There is no need to repost a duplicate, thus causing those of us, who like me, have brains so reduced in capacity through age and abuse that we are left wondering, "I could have sworn I responded, what happened to my post?".

Click on your name. You will get all of your posts.

PS,

Your name is at the left side of the second line of the screen.

Whilst I'm up to date on the info posted so far, I cannot open an old thread once I have found it listed under my name.If I click on it I am returned to the top of the list. What am I doing wrong?

Frances,

Make sure you are clicking on the title of the thread, and not the "Europe" in front of it.

Aw, shucks, I thought maybe somebody (actually, I guessed it would be Rex) had figured out how to recover posts that had really gotten lost...like this one: http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...mp;tid=1278237

It doesn't show up on searches for Iceland or Reykjavik; this happened a while ago when there were posts that slipped through some kind of warp in the space-time continuum....or something.

I think the Fodors indexing software leaves something to be desired. But a great tip is one posted recently in another thread: You can go to the advanced search in Google and limit your search to the fodors.com domain. Sorry I forget who suggested this, so I can't give them credit, but it is very clever!
