Does anyone know how to get from Edinburgh to Shannon airport? I tried the airlines but the lowest quoted fare is over $500 US for my husband and I. That seems much to high for a two hour flight. Is there a cheaper way? Thanks for any help you can give.

I don't think there are any direct flights between Scotland and Shannon but Easyjet and Ryanair offer flights from Edi/Gla to both Belfast and Dublin. I can almost guarantee that you'll pay much less the $500. Flight time to Dublin not much more than 50 mins.

It would be much cheaper to fly into Dublin from Edinburgh. Ryanair has flights from Edinburgh to Dublin, for $20 each way if you can take advantage of their sale--you could take a connection to Shannon on Aer Arann or, much cheaper, take Nestor coach or Bus Eireann to the west coast and see the countryside for about $15. Thank you both for your suggestions. We have booked air from Edinburgh to Dublin and then plan on taking the train from Dublin to Kilarney where we will pick up our car and go on to Dingle from there. The thought of seeing more of the country as we relax on the train really appealed to us. <BR><BR>Again, thanks for your help.
