How much for taxis on Samos?
Hi! We are spending 3 days on Samos in early July. Originally we had been planning on renting a car, but since we will be spending at least one day doing nothing but hanging on the beach by our hotel I'm wondering if it might be cheaper to just use taxis or buses for the few trips we do want to make. Does anybody know how much (and how easy) transportation is between these points?
Vathi port to Limnionas (south western part of the island)
Limnionas to Vourliotes
Manolates to Limnionas
Limnionas to airport or Pythagorio
Since we are spending almost all of our time in small towns are taxis readily available? Thanks!

We spent two weeks in Limnionas last October and visited all
the places you mentioned.
We rented a car through our landlady - the company picked us
up at the ferry and we returned it there upon leaving. Very
easy procedure and not expensive (sorry, don't have the price
here right now).
Samos is a big island and the distances are deceiving b/c it's
very hilly and curvy. I would think depending on taxis would
be a most awkward way to see the island and I'd want my own
car at my disposal even if I didn't use it for a day or so.
In fact, our car stayed parked on beach days.
Unfortunately, the bus service is not much help!

Thanks! Do you know what company you used? The only quote I have at this point was 35E/day and that was arranged through our hotel owner. The price difference might just be due to the fact we will be there in July, though!

Most likely you won't get a car for €20/day in July, and certainly not over the internet. You'll need a local contact for a price like that, or you can do some bargaining to get the price down if you do some legwork and shop around once you're there.
