how much did you pay?
what is your flight itinerary?
when did you book your flight?
where did you book your flight?
I want to fly to central Europe in August, but fear that I'll need to pay over $1,000 (which i'm prepared and expect to do).

May 23- June 1, JFK-LHR, $607 on Delta.com. Bought 3 days ago on a whim. I was actually searching for fares for late November, my preferred time of year to travel, but everything for Nov/Dec is ridiculously expensive this year.

SFO-ATH mid May to mid June - $1200.
Could have gotten a fare a bit cheaper, but this one was a one stop that gets us in to ATH at a decent hour, in time to catch a domestic flight out to our island. No overnight in ATH, either way.

May 9-21 to Italy, into Milan and out of Venice from middle of Michigan for $1167 per person on Northwest.
Purchased in Jan 08 thru Northwest. Have checked repeatedly and no changes downward, increases a couple times in $50 increments.
Our travel dates just missed the spring fare sales but couldn't adjust dates so just swallowed and clicked on purchase. Leave Friday and am still glad I did!

My husband and I paid $903 pp to fly round-trip, nonstop from Philly - Athens, May 16 - June 1. I bought the flights in early February through Airfare.com, using Kayak.com to scour Web sites.
These were the cheapest nonstops I've seen, so glad I booked when I did. There were a couple one-stop flights in the $850s at one point, but I'd gladly pay $50 more per ticket for a nonstop.
