how much did you pay for this summer's european trip?

how much did you pay?

what is your flight itinerary?

when did you book your flight?

where did you book your flight?

I want to fly to central Europe in August, but fear that I'll need to pay over $1,000 (which i'm prepared and expect to do).

May 23- June 1, JFK-LHR, $607 on Delta.com. Bought 3 days ago on a whim. I was actually searching for fares for late November, my preferred time of year to travel, but everything for Nov/Dec is ridiculously expensive this year.

Paid $800 (including taxes) for US Airways flight JAX-PHL-MAN-GLA for June 13- July 6. Booked in mid-February, on a one-day sale through Orbitz. There were 6 of us, so I was glad to get the dip below $1200 normal prices!

Calmasaurus May 6th, 2008 03:55 AM

$738

May 8-18
IAD-CDG
CGN-IAD

Booked in February through United

SJC (San Jose, CA) to MAD (Madrid, Spain) flying in mid-August ... I paid just over $1200 RT.

Seemed high then, but it's gone up slightly since I booked in February.

Two stops (Minniapolis and Amsterdam) on NWA and KLM.

bardo1 May 6th, 2008 06:43 AM

PHL-CDG RT non-stops on US Airways.

5/25-6/2 $898 purchased Jan 2008

djuna May 6th, 2008 07:05 AM

SFO-ATH mid May to mid June - $1200.
Could have gotten a fare a bit cheaper, but this one was a one stop that gets us in to ATH at a decent hour, in time to catch a domestic flight out to our island. No overnight in ATH, either way.

May 9-21 to Italy, into Milan and out of Venice from middle of Michigan for $1167 per person on Northwest.

Purchased in Jan 08 thru Northwest. Have checked repeatedly and no changes downward, increases a couple times in $50 increments.

Our travel dates just missed the spring fare sales but couldn't adjust dates so just swallowed and clicked on purchase. Leave Friday and am still glad I did!

$734

SFO to CDG non-stop June 11 - June 26

I booked it on April 14.

I was idly browing the Air France website, hoping against hope that they would have a good airfare. To my surprise, they did.

Jen May 6th, 2008 11:29 AM

ORD-LHR, May 20-28. $609, booked thru United.com last week. Will hop on bmi at Heathrow one-way ($110) to Amsterdam, then travel by train to Bruges, and train again back to LHR to fly home.

Kelly1212 May 6th, 2008 02:35 PM

My husband and I paid $903 pp to fly round-trip, nonstop from Philly - Athens, May 16 - June 1. I bought the flights in early February through Airfare.com, using Kayak.com to scour Web sites.

These were the cheapest nonstops I've seen, so glad I booked when I did. There were a couple one-stop flights in the $850s at one point, but I'd gladly pay $50 more per ticket for a nonstop.

crazyfortravel May 6th, 2008 03:23 PM

544.00 Canadian per person departing from Halifax to Paris on Icelandair. Our dates are from Jun 2 to Jun 14th and we purchased our tickets back in September of 2007.

MademoiselleFifi May 6th, 2008 04:13 PM

wow. I was beginning to feel better after reading everyone else's responses, but, crazyfortravel, you make me want to cry.
