How many times a day do you shower and shampoo while traveling?

I rember years ago stayinga summer with friends who lived in Liverpool. They had a fantastic DEEP tub that I took advantage of my having bubble baths and soaking myself that I can't do in my small shallow condo one. The two children wanted baths after that. The mom said, she couldn't get them to bathe before. I bought some bubble bath stuff for them the next day but they outgrew that years later.

Shampooing your hair more than once a day isn;t good for it - very drying. And even once a day is too much for some people with dry hair. Your hairdresser can tell you how dry yours is.
As for showering - one does it as necessary. If you've been trekking around all day and are all sweaty naturally you shower before changing to go out to dinner. But showering twice every day - this is heading toward OCD - unless you have some massive perspiration problem.

NYTraveler, I'm bored tonight, so bear with me, but saying
"Shampooing your hair more than once a day isn;t good for it - very drying."
My response is -- You're not using the right shampoo/conditioner if that's the case.
"Your hairdresser can tell you how dry yours is."
No way -- I can tell how dry my hair is. I reach up, touch it, and if it feels dry, it's dry. LOL.
This is a hilarious post...I had to tell my DH last night that just because something is VISIBLY clean, doesn't make it wearable for the next day...olfactory factors must be taken into account. He's 40, but there I go thinking again...
Shower daily. It doesn't hurt anything, especially if you buy the appropriate soap for your body type. And I'm not talking some high-maintenance gin-soaked ThinGorjus soap, just something above Ivory will do for most.

cigalechanta, I might be on dangerous ground here, but I think it's more of a girl-boy thing than an Americans-vs-Others thing. Maybe American guys are given to meeting at the neighbourhood bar to swap useful tips on personal grooming and bodily hygiene, but I've got my doubts.
I will admit that the subject came up briefly the last time I caught up with a few old mates over a beer, but it was limited to "What? You paid a barber $15? Daylight robbery!"
SeaUrchin said it all. Has my life really come to this? At least bowel movements and health ailments haven't come up yet (no, no - what am I saying???)
