Everything you need to know about getting a passport can be found at travel.state.gov <BR> <BR>By applying directly at a passport office with travel documents showing an imminent departure and paying an extra fee I believe you can get one almost instantly. Otherwise variables like where you apply affect the time required.

Allow plenty of time. I had a horrible problem, because the Seattle office decided 3 weeks before we were to leave that the seal was not raised, and was not valid. It had been inspected by the courthouse prior to them sending it off. I agree, if you can get it done at a passport office, that might be faster. If your birth certificate is old, get a new copy. My husband had the same kind, and had no trouble at all. If you have to call the passport phone line, it is$1.95 per minute. Good luck

You don't have to travel in person to a passport agency to get expedited turnaround on a passport application. there is a whole cottage industry to handle that for you as long as you are prepared their fees. Without plugging any particular agency, here's the list you can find on Yahoo!: <BR> <BR>http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Ec...port_Services/ <BR> <BR>Best wishes, <BR> <BR>Rex <BR>www.allexperts.com

Go to you local post office. You can apply for a passport there and/or get information there on how to do it!

We recently obtained a passport for our daughter. It took about 4 weeks with normal processing. Also, I originally went to the Post Office and was told they no longer process passports. We had to go to a local government office.

Vincent, <BR>At http://travel.state.gov./passport_services.html you can find out anything you need to know - cost, documentation required - where to apply - how to apply. You can even print a copy of the passport application form

Go to a post office that handles passports (not all do) apply and pay the extra $100 for express application and you'll receive it in about 10 to 14 days. That's how I got mine last year. <BR> <BR>Good luck and have a great trip. <BR> <BR>
