How far, time walking Venice?

I am not a fast walker. How far would you say it is from the Bridge of Sighs, Venice to the Academia. Please give in terms of distance. Then a gestimate on how long in time it may take? Are there areas to wonder through on the way?

If you go streight from point to point, it is less than 1 km, and takes about 15-20 minutes; if you would like to stop to take the views and photos, or detour to see Theatre La Fenice, or visit Church Santo Stefano for the beatiful ceiling and Tntoretto's paintings, it could take about another couple hours.

A normal New York walking pace (not running just brisk walking) is a mile in 20 minutes. So, taking 15 to 20 minutes to do only a K is fairly slow strolling.

If you choose the pedestrian option on mappy.com, you will get directions, distance, time walking at a normal pace, and good maps.

Funny that you should mention a brisk New York walk. I'm from UPSTATE NY, must be why I stroll. thank you all for your response. The site for pedestrian directions is invaluable. THANK YOU
