How far from Notre Dame walking?

I am trying to decide between tho hotels:

Grand Hotel des Balcons and Saint Jacques. Does anyone know how far these are from the Notre Dame? I stayed at Hotel Monge last year and fell in love with this area near the Notre Dame so much I am trying to get within closer walking distance this time.

You should be able to get quite a good idea by looking at the hotel website's maps - closer to the Seine = closer to Notre Dame.

I've stayed at the St-Jacques twice and would estimate walking time at no more than 10 minutes.

Since the Balcons is only about two blocks further north than the St. Jacques, the difference would be negligible.

I don't have specifics but I think both will be closer to Notre Dame than Hotel Monge.

Thanks for the help. WillTravel, the aerial navigator was great! Loved zooming in on the area.

I probably wouldn't walk from Hotel Monge to Notre Dame, so if you think that's usual, you won't have any problem. The St-Jacques is closer, I believe.

I there there is a mistake in the comment about Balcons being a couple blocks north of St-Jacques, as that would be the Seine, I believe. The Balcons is west of there, and quite a bit more than two blocks, near Odeon metro, isn't it?

The Hotel St-Jacques is at the corner of rue des Ecoles and rue des Carmes in the Latin Qtr, just a block or so south of the Maubert metro stop. Very near Notre Dame--maybe 400 meters. The Balcons is near place de l'Odeon on rue Casimir Delavigne --that is farther (maybe twice as far), because Notre Dame is almost directly north of place Maubert.

If you want to be near Notre Dame, have you considered Hotel de Notre Dame?
