How can I go to Sault?
Hi,
I will be based at Avignon during 4 days in june and I'ld like to discover the Lavender's Rout at Sault. There's a bus from Carpentras, Apt or a direct line from Avignon? I will not rent a car.
Thank you,
Christian Grecco.

Christian, I've only been there by car but once you get there by public transportation, there is the Sault Region Tourist Information Office,
Ave. de la Promenade in Sault where they have several guided tours of the main lavender-growing areas.
Be sure to stop in the beautiful shop of the famous nougatier André Boyer.

hi, Christian. Yes, it is difficult to get there without a car, as I think the closest rail station is Avignon or Orange (and that is about 66 km away). Here is their tourism office website, in case you don't have it
http://www.saultenprovence.com/
Here is some other information, including bus ideas
http://www.beyond.fr/villages/sault.html
beyond.fr is a good website and has a bus schedule section, but it doesn't seem to have anything better than mentioned above or that you already know. this is the bus information from Carpentras
http://www.ville-carpentras.fr/transports/bus_page.htm
It doesn't seem to show a route to Sault, but I know the Sault tourisme says Cars Comtadins serve them (and they are in Carpentras).
It's probably a good idea just to check at the Avignon bus station when you are there to see if they have a direct line. I'm not sure but I think one is mentioned on the Sault tourism site. Good luck.

A glance at the local bus schedules makes me think trying to get to Sault from Avignon by bus will be difficult at best. Although I am generally not a fan of this sort of thing, you might consider instead taking a guided tour of the lavender region - there are quite a few companies that will take groups of people up in buses and mini-buses. I am sure at the tourist office in Avignon they have tons of info -
-Kevin
p.s.: a 1/2 day tour should run around 30-40 euros - not all that much more than you'd spend on bus fare and a whole lot more efficient.
