How are the Flowers at Keukenhof?

I will be at the gardens on May 15. Are the flowers blooming early, late? I hope they will be pretty in mid-may.

I can't say how they are in Keukenhof, but the first tulips are just in bloom in my garden. plenty more to come though. It has been colder than normal the last week and that has slowed things down a bit.

Till now the outlook for May 15 is good. Spring hasbeen far too cold, so the blooming is delayed. Also in Keukenhof there are many large trees that give shade and of course postpone the blooming.

Any update?

We depart this Friday evening for Amsterdam and I'm currently planning a trip to Keukenhof for next Tuesday. My concern is that it might be too early. Would it make sense to move it to sometime around May 6th?

It has warmed up considerably this week, with lots of sun so more tulips are on the point of blooming. Even if all the tulips aren't in bloom there will still be plenty of other bulb flowers to enjoy.
If you go to this site: http://tinyurl.com/586g49 and click on the photo of the dragon you will see photos taken at Keukenhof on 21 April.

Looking at the long term weather forecast May 6th looks to be better weather than the coming week, but if course that could all change as a two week forecast is not very reliable.
Looks like cool and wet for Koninginnedag and Ascension day btw.

I was again at the tulipfields (not keukenhof) on April 26.
Most tulips are just blooming, some even have to start.
So the coming 2 weeks will be great out there.
Keukenhof also has more shade, so bloomingseason is longer. In the fields tulips are topped to save the bulb, but in Keueknhof they let them bloom longer.
