Thanks for the replies. Either a quad or 2 double room is good for us. We'll be heading to Florence and Venice after a 3 days stay in Rome so I'm thinking whether we should stay close to Station Termini. Any advice? We are fine with apartments too

We stayed in the St. Peter Apartment near the Vatican through Comfortitalia. Excellent apartment for 4 for about 1500E per week with two nice bedrooms/2 baths. Ask if you can rent per night. Excellent value, location, and service.
