Hotels on a budget

Can anybody recommend a budget priced hotel or B&B in London? The only requirement is that it has to be clean. I will need 4 double rooms so you can see why I need it to be budget. It will also be from 18 DEC to 29 DEC. thanks for the help

First, I recommend searching this site for "london hotel" or "budget london hotel" and you'll find LOTS of good info.

Then, head over to http://www.biddingfortravel.com and read their FAQs and look at what others have done - this will help you bid on priceline for your rooms which will probably get you your best deal.

Try the Novotels at www.novotel.com. There are a few Novotels in London proper. There may also be Ibis hotels in London-www.accor.com. You could try the Travel Inn County Hall, it was recommended in Frommer's Budget Travel magazine, but I haven't stayed there myself. Just do a search on google or yahoo. Good luck.

You might want to check out the Oxbridge Apartments in South Kensington. My travel group stayed there in Sept. and found them to be an excellent budget option. Very centrally located about a 5-10 minute walk from the Gloucester Road tube stop, inexpensive, clean, etc.

If you do put "Oxbridge Apartments" in the text search box at the top of the page, it should pull up many threads on this property, including my trip report (the London section is first). You can also visit their website at http://www.oxrg.demon.co.uk/

I can't remember what we paid, but it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 60 or 70 pounds per night for our one bedroom flat (slept 3) with a full bathroom and kitchenette.

Good luck,
Jennie

Try www.hotel-london.co.uk for lots of budget hotel listings, and guest comments. www.TripAdvisor.com is helpful, too.

Hi Clabo,

Sleepylabeef has suggested the Travel Inn County Hall & I think it would be well worth considering. Although I haven't stayed in this particular hotel I have stayed in other Travel Inns (it's a UK wide budget chain)& they were perectly acceptable. I can also say that the T.I. County Hall is in a great location - right across the Thames from Westminster (although it doesn't have river views). You can find more details on Travel Inn's website at travelinn.co.uk which will also allow you to make reservations if you're interested.

Hope you find something!

Comfort Inn Vauxhall - http://www.comfortinnvx.co.uk

You might be able to get this on Priceline (check the biddingfortravel.com site as mentioned), at least for part of your stay. If not, there is probably a promotional deal on their web site.
