Hotels near Heathrow
Hello:
I will be visiting London for a few days in November. Since I have never been in London, can any one suggest a hotel to stay at?
I am flying into Heathrow, and want to see places like the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace and White Chapel. Thanks!

Please don't stay near Heathrow.
Come into town and stay at a proper hotel IN LONDON, since that's what you want to see. There are a thousand hotels to choose from.
What's your budget?
I would suggest not worrying about any specific hotel and using Priceline to get a good deal on a specific area. Which area that is depends on you. Have you taken a look at any guidebooks? You could even start on this site, by clicking "destinations" on the top bar. I like the area around the British Museum and Bloombury for a base, but there are a million great places.

$70 is less than £35 - that is pretty difficult anywhere in the country let alone London. This is for a single, right?
$100 is more doable but still not much in London. I'd suggest you use PriceLine. You can get 4 star hotels in central London for around $100. Read up on biddingfortravel.com. You can't use university lodging since they usually aren't available in Nov.
