Hotels near Heathrow
Hello:
I will be visiting London for a few days in November. Since I have never been in London, can any one suggest a hotel to stay at? I am flying into Heathrow, and want to see places like the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace and White Chapel. Thanks! |
Please don't stay near Heathrow.
Come into town and stay at a proper hotel IN LONDON, since that's what you want to see. There are a thousand hotels to choose from. What's your budget? I would suggest not worrying about any specific hotel and using Priceline to get a good deal on a specific area. Which area that is depends on you. Have you taken a look at any guidebooks? You could even start on this site, by clicking "destinations" on the top bar. I like the area around the British Museum and Bloombury for a base, but there are a million great places. |
Another site for discount hotelroom : www.londontown.com, I prefer the area around Tranfalgar Square.

Heathrow is a terrible place to stay for visiting London. the airport is not in the city.
But anywhere actually IN central London would be OK since the public transport is so good. What is your budget?? |
Thanks fnarf999.
My budget is tight. Mostly likely around $70-100 a night |
Thanks JudyC and janisj for the info.
I am looking for something from 70-100 per night (USD) |
$70 is less than £35 - that is pretty difficult anywhere in the country let alone London. This is for a single, right?
$100 is more doable but still not much in London. I'd suggest you use PriceLine. You can get 4 star hotels in central London for around $100. Read up on biddingfortravel.com. You can't use university lodging since they usually aren't available in Nov. |
