We will be driving from Germany to Venice to sight see for two days, any suggestions on where to stay and must do attractions?

We are going to be there between April 12-15, 2005 and we are looking for between 75-150 euro. I'll look up the suggestions, thank you.

I just returned from the Pensione Accademia,and they book up pretty far in advance.

We stayed in the Hotel Antica Venezia the weekend before last for 110 euros per night, booked through Venere. It was just round the corner from San Marco and full of character. Buy a day pass for the vaporreto and get the number 1 up the Grand Canal and back, which takes about 90 minutes from San Marco, if you don't get off. Get the lift up the campanile for a birds eye view of Venice, obviously don't miss the basilica and Doge's palace and wander round the narrow streets, away from the tourist areas to get a real feel for the place.
