Hotels in Prague & Budapest ?

Recommendations please for 4 star (or so) hotels in Prague and Budapest? The Golden Well in Prague looks very good but it appears to not have showers! I'm told that the east side of the river in Budapest is a desireable location. Suggestions greatly appreciated!

What do you mean the hotel does not have showers? That's at least a 4*(or maybe 5*) hotel. Even a hotel of lower categoy has showers. Sorry I'm saying this without really checking but it's really hard to imagine. Or you mean their bathrooms have tubs (with shower fonction) but no separate shower booth?

We stayed at the Hotel Pest in Budapest and thought it was good. We would recommend it.

We stayed at the K&K Opera Hotel in Budapest and thought it too was very nice. As you would guess, it is located right around the corner from the Opera (and the metro.) We would return.

The Maximilian is a lovely 4-star hotel in Prague, and I can assure you they have showers.

It's in a great location, just a few short blocks from Old Town Square, within walking distance of the Charles Bridge and everything else.

Even if you don't stay there, the Four Seasons in Budapest is a great building right at the Chain Bridge. We ate dinner at the Four Seasons which we thought was very special until we ate one night at Tom George just a block or 2 away. The veal chop and risotto might have been the best I've ever had anywhere.

Yes the Golden Well (Prague) only has a wall shower over the tub in a few rooms. Otherwise none. I was amazed! Thanks all for your replies.

I stayed at the art'Otel which is on the Buda side of the Danube. I got it on Priceline for $65/night. We loved it; views were lovely; hotel was quiet, clean and friendly. Easy walking distance to anywhere we wanted to go.

I also recommend K+K Hotels. They have hotels in Prague and Budapest. I've stayed at the London K+K twice and can't say enough good things about it.

We stayed the the Marriott Budapest. The location was great and although the hotel is undergoing renovations it did not halt any services. We booked it on Priceline for $83.
