I too made reservations at the Emoncec for September. I studied other hotel options, but they were more money with mixed reviews. It seems to be the only modestly priced hotel in town. It appears to be centrally located but has some parking as well. They were quick to reply and didn't request a deposit.
Here's something Rick Steves mentioned about it:

It seems that way. I got on Skype this morning (highly recommended free calling on the net) & spoke to a guy in Bled who says that both their currency & euros are accepted. It seems as if most places accepted only cash. Where else are you going because I highly recommend 3Glav Adventure Tour from Bled.

I'll leave Lubljana for Piran and Rovinj by car--probably with a quick visit to Bled and Skofja Loca on the way. I'll take the one non-stop a week from Pula to Dubrovnik.
I haven't rented a car yet. Have used AutoEurope in the past, but Economy Car Rental is considerably cheaper with no deductible insurance. AE has alway matched other prices for me. But this is $51 vs $31 a day for their smallest car. Does anyone know about Economy? I may do a separate thread to get a better response .
