Well I usually stay at the Kensington Close in Kensington. The prices are moderate and the rooms are pretty good, nothing luxurious but nice and modern. Its a solid 3* hotel.
It is located right near the Kensington High Street tube station. Kensington High Street has all sorts of shopping (in a smaller way that Oxford Street) including department stores, trendy clothing stores, cafes and restaurants.
If you want to find the "special rates" its kind of tricky. If you simply use the booking or reservation links shown on the home page you will get the standard rates. To get special rates follow this...
-click on the link marked specials
-Then look for the lonks that say HOT DEALS under where it says, "promotional rates". Click on this and input your dates.
You will get a rate that is about GBP10 lower than their regular rates.

I also have some info about my stay here...
