Hotels in Florence, Siena and Assisi?

We are considering a week in Florence, then splitting up a week in Tuscany/Umbria with part of the week based out of Siena and the remainder in Assisi. We're traveling with elderly parents, so need hotel with elevator. Would prefer hotel with restaurant as well. We'll be driving (when we leave Florence), so a parking lot would be great, but perhaps too much to ask for. Something in the $200-300 range... I'm researching, but in the meantime would appreciate your suggestions. annieladd

I do not know about an elevator--perhaps not, but if not perhaps you could get a room on the ground floor. Has a/c and parking, in your budget--in Siena.

Our hotel in Siena was Santa Caterina and it had both an elevator and parking - and the most delightful garden for breakfast. It was just outside the Roman Gate with a bus stop out front to allow easy access to the centro storico if you choose not to walk. Only one room has a balcony with a view of the Tuscan hills so you may have to flip a coin to see who gets it! I remember a bar but not a restaurant per se.

And I can highly recommend Calzaiuoli Hotel in Florence; it does have an elevator but no restaurant although given its location, which is central to about everything, restaurants are literally around the corner.

It depends on when you are going, but we were very pleased with our Florence hotel (Hotel Berchielli). It's about 3/4 block away from the Ponte Vecchio and faces the river. Staff were very nice, accomodating. We requested a riverview room and got one. They have special offers depending on the season.

In Siena, the Hotel Chiusarelli http://www.chiusarelli.com/ has a restaurant and a small parking lot. We've stayed there twice and found it convenient to drive to and from for touring Tuscany. It's less expensive that your budget. I don't recall if it has an elevator but I think it doesn't.
