Hotels in Amalfi Region
We have a family of 4 (2 forty somethings in decent shape and 9 and 12 year old daughters), I would like a pool and view, parking, with not too much in the way of stairs and out of the way pedestrian areas. Our price is about 150-250 Euro per night for 2-3 nights and we'd like to see Pompeii, drive/ride Amalfi coast. I was thinking Sorrento would offer me more conveniences, but not sure if I'm better off in a "quainter" town. Thanks for any advice.

The Aminta is on the outskirts of Sorrento and has everything you listed.
Check out their webcams. You can watch people swimming in their pool. www.aminta.it

Try www.venere.com and www.sorrentoinfo.com. On Venere, you can search by location and star level. Even www.expedia.com lists quite a few hotels in Sorrento.

We stayed at Hotel Settimo Cielo (www.hotelsettimocielo.com. It is a 7 or 8 minute walk (uphill) from the centre of Sorrento on the Capo. We booked a room with a terrace and had an amazing view over the water - I believe all their rooms have views over the water. The cost was 140 euros a night and included breakfast - served inside or outside the dining room, again with an amazing view of the water. The hotel also has a pool. The photos on the website will give you an idea of the location of this hotel, which is terrific value for money.
