Hotel Weber in Capri ?? Day Trips?

Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Weber in Capri? We will be there for four nights at the end of May. We have booked the Junior Suite and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience there.

Also, can you reasonably do day trips to Positano or Sorrento from Capri? Any suggestions on this or other destinations?

Thank you.

Hi Dejais, We stayed at Hotel Weber a couple of years ago. The rooms were very nice with stunning views of the water below. The local bus ran very regularly to the main part of Capri above or it was very easy to get a taxi. As for day trips, a private tour could be arranged very easily through the hotel and there are boats every hour to Sorrento which take 40 minutes.
We took a really relaxing boat trip around Capri with stops for swimming and snorkelling on the way. However, be warned! We swam at Marina Piccola and have never experienced so much pollution. I came out of the water looking like a penguin which had been caught in an oil slick! I hope it has improved dramatically.

Hi D,
>can you reasonably do day trips to Positano or Sorrento from Capri?<

Of course. Ask your hotel for schedules of ferries.

Sometimes the ferry schedule is altered or cancelled due to water conditions. It is generally easier to get to Sorrento from Capri than Positano, since Sorrento has a deeper and larger port.

Just be aware that ferries to and fro Capri don;t run after late afternoon. So - if you do a day trip you need to plan to be back fairly early - or hire your own boat.
