Hotel suggestion needed for Seville's Santa Cruz area

We will be staying in Seville for 4 nights beginning Easter Saturday and need to book a hotel now. I am thinking safe/comfortable but not necessarily fancy...
Like a B&B maybe. Any ideas?

A lot of people really like Hotel Amadeus, and I agree that it sounds right for your purpose. They have a new sister hotel so more space, also. I stayed there once during Santa Semana and it was nice enough for the area, but not fancy. That's the only one I've stayed at, but there are several other small hotels like that in Santa Cruz (that you might call B&Bs, but they are not really a B&B in the true sense of the word as someone just renting a few rooms in their house).

However, I must warn you that the rates are very high around Easter and they are booked up way ahead of time (Holy Week is really the big draw, and Easter). So your challenge is probably going to be to find a vacancy more than anything. The Amadeus is very very popular, so I actually think it unlikely, but you never know. Some folks might leave on Easter. In fact, I think the rates drop that week, also, so it might work out.

Take a look at this one, too...located almost next to the cathedral

I agree places will be booked up way ahead and we have had difficulty booking Hotel Amadeus months ahead for non peak times.

Others you could try are Hotel Alcantara, Hotel Dimon or Hostal Goya.

Not sure too many B & B's exist in Seville but we have always stayed in a hotel or in an apartment.

Thanks to all. Christina, I was actually able to book the last available room (at Easter!) in the Hotel Amadeus, near the Cathedral. My son in studying in Sevilla, went by there and said it is nice, on a side street in a good section and looks cozy. Thanks so much for the suggestions. It is sooooo helpful to us novices

wow, that's great! It's not really near the Cathedral, though, I think you are thinking of something else. It is in the Santa Cruz area.

well, I don't mean to confuse you -- that area is a short walkable distance to the cathedral, so maybe you mean near in that sense. But it's not considered the cathedral area, per se.

You have booked a wonderful hotel - pleasant, friendly and well located. As Christina indicates it is not near the cathedral but is a short walk away.
