hotel stay 11 nights?

i havent completely booked all 11 night yet,but it seems to be coming out to about 95 euros per night for a family of four around the christmas break. This is factoring in all discounts and specials.is this a good enough price?rome and venice most expensive for the entire trip.i am still looking for something cheap on 31 december in venice?
could i do better or is this as good as its going to get.
thanks everyone.

That sounds pretty darn good to me - where else are you going besides Rome/Venice? I am also researching Rome for a May 2009 visit and, as you point out, the cities are expensive. The Euro seems to be going down as well which is nice!

Rather, 95 euros is VERY cheap for 4 people.

Can't imagine how you would get anything for less - even hostels and convents charge more than that.

That's way better than "good enough." Where are you staying that you are getting these prices?

I assume the 95 Euros is the total price, not per person. If so 95 for 4 is as said above "molto, molto vantaggioso".

I'd sure like to get some reviews of those places before I booked them!! They could be OK, but they could also be small, dirty, out-of-the-way, etc.

Chiming in with you aren't likely to do any better than 95 euro for 4 people in venice/rome! That IS cheap.

sorry i've been busy.
yes the cheaper places are definitely away from the center of cities.
But for a family of 4 a quad room in the thick of things runs around a 170 euros average.
so i've resigned myself to using hotel shuttles and city metros and coming back to the hotels at night basically to sleep.for the price difference i can live with it.
Marie f if you are still researching hotels for may 2009 travelocity has 75$ off a 3 night stay (think the code is (bonus75)if you use a mastercard .check it out.
any venice advice would be greatly apprciated.
