Hotel St Jacques is at 35 rue des Ecoles... the building shows 7 stories however the hotel may not 'own' all 7. There is a restaurant on the ground floor...
This is their direct information form on their website:
http://www.hotel-saintjacques.com/en/writeus_en.htm

Their website doesn't indicate an email address.

Thank you for the address. I went to the website, and it really is the place I thought. So, I will wait to here from them. I read all of the comments on this post and some travelers refer to their rooms on 5th and 6th floors, that's why I think I've made a mistake on the hotel. Also, the reply email mentioned being 10 minutes to the sea. What is your opinion? Can the center of Paris be 10 minutes by the sea?!

There are probably a hundred hotels in France with the name St Jacques. Clearly you are emailing the wrong place. There is even another one in Paris, but I think it is called Relais Saint Jacques (and is more expensive).

This is the website of the correct one
http://www.hotel-saintjacques.com/

Perhaps you are emailing the Hotel St Jacques in Nice.

Thank you so much!! I can't imagine what would have happened if we went to the wrong hotel and tried to check in! Since you've so helpful already, can I pick your brain for one more question? Hotel Jacques or Hotel Louvre Forum? My daughter will be 18 when we travel in May, loves art and music and of course all the trendy things. Would the Latin Quarter be the right place for us? I know the University is in that area and there will be alot of the younger crowd--but we're looking for culture and depth, not hip. Honestly, the hotel is just where we are going to rest our weary bones. We intend on exploring alot. The The Louvre, Eiffel Tower etc. A day trip to Versailles. What do you think of a day for a wine excursion? Our trip is 8 days between the last week of May and first week of June. Your thoughts?

I'd try the Hotel Saint Jacques (full name), as it looks to be more comfortable.

you may also want to look into Hotel Henri IV Rive Gauche on rue st jacques. Great reviews on tripadvisor and here. I think it's in the top 10 on tripadvisor and is very reasonable.

I originated this post and just saw your recent replies. It is a coincidence that my daughter was also 18 when we went in November and loves art and music. In fact she will be a major in art, minor in music in college next year. Anyway, just want you to know the charm of the St. Jacques was just what she was looking for and you can't go wrong with it. Also, regarding floors: There are 6 french floors in the hotel. I was on the 5th and the last with an elevator. The 6th was walk up only and less expensive. But, unless I am mistaken, French floors are counted differently and the 6th French floor is actually the 7th by American terms. They go ground floor and then first floor being actually our second floor.

The fifth floor has nice walk out standing balconies. Very nice!
