Hotel Splendid Dubrovnik - or a good apartment
Has anyone stayed at this hotel? Or does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel about this cost in September Euros 65 per person half board? Would actually prefer just Bed and Breakfast rather than half board.
Would also be interested in details of a good apartment - we will have a car so doesn't have to be actually in Dubrovnik. I know everyone says you don't need to book at that time of the year but we only have 4 nights and don't want to waste time hunting for a place to stay.
Hope you can help.

We were in Dubrovnik last year and we stayed within the walls in a wonderful apartment called Magical. It was indeed! You can follow this link http://www.dubrovnik-online.com/magical_apartment/ and take a look.
It would not be good for someone who doesn't like stairs. It is located just off the Stradun but up three flights of stairs.
It was perfect for us at only about $75 Euro total.

I really don't think you are going to get any accomodations in Dubrovnik for 65 Euros half board. Our experience, staying mostly in Sobes, was that even breakfast was not an option. When in Dubrovnik last September, we stayed at the very convenient Villa Adriatica, just outside of the Ploce Gate. It was 63 Euros per night, if I remember correctly.
We did stay at one big tourist hotel near Cavtat, that offered half board, but that was WAY more than your price range.
By the way, we found that staying in one of the little seaside villages south of Dubrovnik worked out very well. They had regular water taxi service to Dubrovnik for very little. Took all the hassle out of going to town, and was a delightful way to approach that gem of a city.
Have a great trip! I'm sure you will love Crotia.

Thanks for the info - the 65 Euros PER PERSON was based on the price shown on the Adriatic Net for Hotel Splendid. That is why I used it for a guide.
Magical Apartment looked really good but I suspect parking will be a problem because we will have driven in from Italy and will be burdened with a car. We can't change this because of other arrangements.
I like the idea of a water taxi.
Thanks for your good wishes and I am sure we will love Croatia.
