Hotel Restaurant Claude Marco

We are trying to reserve a room at this hotel/restaurant in Lamagdelaine . We have received great reviews of it in the past from Fodorites. www.restaurantmarco.com does not work. Does anyone know of their email address ?

Thanks

I know other people like this restaurant, but our one experience there was not positive. We were the only people there for lunch and the staff seemed to feel that we were an imposition. I asked several times to have the music turned down, only to be told that was as low as it could go - never found out why they couldn't just turn it off, as we were the only guests. I don't actually remember the food, which was not memorable enough to make up for the lack of welcome.

Anyway, we much prefer Le Gindreau, another one star Michelin just the other side of Cahors.

Great food, wonderful setting, nice people. Been there several times and always enjoyed it.

Thanks Carlux and St Cirq: Actually we spoke to each of you 1 year ago on this web site and then postponed our trip till Oct 2009. If we don't hook up with this hotel/restaurant we are staying 6 nights in Sarlat and then wanted to move closer to Cahors for the last 2 nights. We thought this would be in closer proximity to Peche Merle. We are staying in Sarlat at La Lanterne. Any ideas of another place closer to Pech Merle or to Cahors before going to Barcelona?

La Balandré at the Hôtel Terminus in Cahors would be my choice (though it has been a few years since I was there).

We have looked at La Ballandre but thought we might like to be just a little bit more rural. Thought maybe there might be another small place that is nice.

Well, there's always La Récré, of "From Here You Can't See Paris" fame. That's exceedingly rural.

Do you know of a hotel or small guest house to the east of Cahors closer to Peche Merle . It doesn't have to be totally rural. Need to have good food near or at the hotel!!

I have stayed and eaten at Claude Marco 3 times..Each time has been a delight! M. Marco and his wife, Line are delightful hosts. Claude Marco has retained a one star Michelin rating and the food reflects this..

The rooms have just the right amount of plush but are not stuffy.

The email address is:[email protected]

good luck...

We would love to stay at Claude Marco. The web address that you gave me doesn't work. It is on their web site but I have tried it 3 times and if fails to be delivered. I wonder if they are closed. I may have to become brave and call tomorrow and practice my French!!

Just type the address and send it as an email without going thru the website...although I was on the site just a moment ago and it seems to work fine...

Wait awhile and try again..

By all means, stay and eat here if you can.. truly a lovely place only 10 minutes from Cahors

It could be that their mailbox is full.. You could always try to fax them.. Bear in mind that M. Marco and staff do not speak/read English. However his wife and daughter in law are Spanish. If you like, I would be willing to forward your request to them..in either French or Spanish

Still trying to reach Restaurant Claude Marco which is also a hotel. Called their telephone number on Saturday AM but reached a reservation booking service. Called 4 times and they could not find this hotel/restaurant in town of lamagdelaine or Cahors. Should I try to find another place closer to Pech Merle or keep trying. Need HELP!!! langcraft ( FOdorite) tried to reach them by email but their e mail is full. Maybe they are closed for a few months!!

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get through by email. It could be that they are closed or are having technical difficulties.

I will continue to send emails to them every few days until I get through to them. I may so far as to try to call them, since now I am curious as to why they are not reachable..
