Hotel recs in Paris

Will be traveling high-season with husband and daughter. Prefer the Marais district, private bath. Am prepared to spend up to $250. Would appreciate all recommendations, but also any feedback on Hotel Saint-Paul le Marais and Hotel de la Bretonniere. Would also prefer a place not crawling with Americans...

If you truly want a place "not crawling with Americans" in "high season", you will have to step outside of the Marais, St Germain, Latin Quarter,Tour Eiffel, Opera and Champs Elysees areas. Try the 19th or 20th arrondissements...

However, in an attempt to provide a response:

Hotel du Petit Moulin
recently renovated and designed by Christian Lacroix...probably not overrun with Americans just yet...

abw, I posted this on the other board...

This is closer to Republique than deep Marais, but they do have a couple of triples and (maybe) airconditioning, under your $250 pricetag. Fax or email the hotel and ask their rate for a triple for your dates, and if they have A/C in the rooms.

last year we stayed at the hotel caron de beaumarchais which is very nice. top floor rooms are smaller, but have a balcony (incl. chairs and table) and great view.

didn't see too many other people there at all!

I stayed at Hotel Saintonge Marais, a 3 star hotel and was really satisfied of this hotel. It was clean, rooms was nicely decorated, staff was present and helpful. Location is wonderful...
It could fit your budget.
