Hotel Recamier Paris

Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Recamier in Paris? I have only seen it from the outside, and the location on Place St. Sulpice couldn't be better. It looks like one of the last old un-tarted-up left bank hotels, which could be a bad thing if the rooms are really dank and small. But the rate for a 1 bedroom suite is only 160.00 E.

I stayed there three times but it was a few years ago. It seemed so old Paris to me. I was disappointed the next trip that I couldn't get in. Rooms were clean and pretty basic-not at all fluffed up. As you know, it's a great left bank location, but quiet. They pride themselves on it being a quiet hotel. Some of the larger rooms face the square. Mine never had a view, but were never dark or musty. The breakfast was a simple but adequate continental type, not a buffet. Again this was some time ago, so things may have changed.

It has the outdoor restaurant I like to stop and lunch in but have only seen the downstairs area to use the WC.
But alot of local fashion buyers here, stay there and love it.

The restaurant must be something new. I don't recall one at the hotel, but there were several nearby. Just curious.

Hotel Recamier and Restaurant Recamier are two separate properties, in two different locations. The restaurant is close to Au Bon Marche near the Sevres-Babylone metro and the hotel is near Saint Sulpice. (Both are in a great location!)
