Hotel near Sorrento

We are leaving for a GET tour of Sicily, Rome and Sorrento on Thursday. We have just found out that our hotel in Sorrento has been changed. We are now at the Grand Hotel Parco del Sorrento, which is in an area called Sant' Agnello, about 2 K from S. Has anyone stayed in that village or in that hotel? Thanks for any info. Ciao. mhm

OOPS!! WRONG hotel--it is Grand Hotel la Pace, in Sant' Agnello. The hotel looks very classy and has a good view of Bay of Naples. Ciao!! mhm

You hotel is about 2km East of Sorrento center, on the main route coming in from Naples and Pompeii.

S. Agnello is on the local train line and is one stop before Sorrento (end of line).

Sant Angello is the best place to stay on the Amalfi coast. It is a working, living Italian town. There are not many restaurants and thankfully there are not many tourists. There are little narrow streets and then the views....

S.Agnello is a good 45 minute walk from the centre of Sorrento. Personally I prefer to be nearer the action. Which was your original hotel?

The origional hotel was the Michaelangelo which was in Sorrento. Have been to Sorrento three times on various tours and never have stayed in the town centre. However, it sound like the hotel provides a shuttle in to town and the village sounds interesting--even without much action. Thanks for the replies. Ciao! mhm
