It's a fine hotel in a calm little square yet just five minutes from old town square. Make sure you try Chez Marcel next door, a great value French bistrot.

I stayed there on my one and only visit to Prague. I liked it a lot, and loved the location. It's in Old Town very close to the square, but on a quiet side street. Also enjoyed Chez Marcel next door.

I've stayed there twice, it is a really nice hotel and I love the location. Very convenient and walking distance to the Old Town Square, but quiet and off-the-beaten track a bit. It's only several blocks to a metro station. I haven't been there in several years, though, and I understand they redecorated (I have no idea why, as they weren't that old to begin with) in a modern style. They used to be Louis Philippe or so, actually, which I really liked. But I believe the management is the same, and it was very good. They have a great breakfast room.

Christina, the same company owns the "modern design" hotel Josef and I fear some of it has rubbed off on the the Maximillian!
